Lynden Pindling International Airport
Nassau, The Bahamas

On July 9, 2009, Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of  stage one of the Airport Expansion Project - a new 247,000 sq. ft. U.S. Departures Terminal scheduled to be completed by early 2011.  Ledcor Construction, a Canadian-Bahamian consortium, was awarded the general contractor bid for stage one in June 2009.

Stage two, scheduled to be completed in late 2012, includes selective demolition of the current U.S. Departures Terminal, and construction of a new International Arrivals terminal.

In stage three, the final stage of the Expansion Project, a new Domestic/International Departures and Domestic Arrivals Terminal will be added.

The functional design will give a total terminal area of just over 585,000 square feet featuring 10 jet-bridge capable gates, 4 gates capable of taking Boeing 747 sized aircraft, and one capable of handling the world's largest aircraft, the Airbus A-380.
