On April 1st, 2007 the government of The Bahamas officially handed over the development, operation and management of Lynden Pindling International Airport to YVRAS and Nassau Airport Development Company Limited (NAD).
In 2005, YVRAS was selected by the government of The Bahamas as the successful bidder. In January 2006 YVRAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding and in October 2006 officially signed a 10 year contract. Operational hand-over of the airport was completed in 2007.
YVRAS is currently project managing a US$410 million airport expansion program including a new U.S. Departures Terminal opening in 2011 and a new International Arrivals Terminal in 2012.
Lynden Pindling International Airport, formerly known as Nassau International Airport, is the fourth busiest airport in the Caribbean. In 2009, the airport served over 3 million passengers and handled over 93,500 aircraft movements.
